Glad I was at class! | Author: Will

I’m glad I was at class last night during the majority of the game. I missed Z’s implosion which was a good thing. Nothing much to add to the discussion about the game, since I missed most of it. Here’s to hoping we can win the series today, and that Z gets back on track in his next start.

I did come across a great site if you {sarcasm}really love and respect ESPN analyst’s as much as I do{/sarcasm}. Here is his take on Joe Morgan and his love affair with the Yankees.

That site really put me in a much better mood, because it means that there are people out there who also realize what morons they put on ESPN baseball coverage.

My favorite ESPN moment had to be the stunning revelation that Jon Miller had during the Cubs/Red Sox series. It was the Tim Wakefield game and they had just shown Tim Wakefield’s only career homerun with the Pirates. Then Jon Miller came a conclusion that literally stunned him,”Joe, did you know that the Red Sox pitchers have not hit a home run in about 30 years?”

Morgan:”That’s really amazing, Jon.”

Miller:”Thirty years is a really long time to not have any pitchers hit a homerun.”

I waited for a moment to hear any inclination that he was joking……………………………………………. he wasn’t. Jon and Joe were just astounded by this fact that BOSTON RED SOX PITCHERS OF THE AMERICAN LEAGUE HAVE NOT HIT A HOMERUN IN THIRTY YEARS. I’m telling you, cross my heart hope to die, there was not an ounce of sarcasm in their voices.

P.S. Note to Jon and Joe if you are reading this the reason that the Boston Red Sox pitchers have not hit any homeruns in 30 years, probably has something to do with that whole Designated Hitter Rule that was implemented in 1973
